How do I say "so", in Spanish, as in: "So... why don't we get started?" or "So, let's see, where did we leave off?" or "So, anyway, finish the rest of the story!"

Thank you!

So = así/ así que

So (that we/I) Welcome to the city.

Although some words can have several meaning/uses. Check the following:

Then, we welcome to the city = Entonces/pues....

So, we welcome ... = así/así que, ...

Hello, Caitlin

Welcome to the SpanishDict forum smile

You asked:

How do I say, "So" in Spanish, as in: "So, welcome back!"

Bueno, me alegro de que hayas vuelto = Welcome back

I think you would just use the word, bueno here which would be used as a pause or transttion word! wink

Bueno, ¿por qué no comenzamos? = So, why don't we get started?

I hope this helps smile

In other words, a meaningless sentence-starter? In Mexico: "Pues."

¿Pues, por qué no comenzamos?

¿Pues, empezaremos?

I use "entonces", which is also what my native teacher uses all the time in class.

In Spain though, they tend to use "vale" too.

I have enjoyed all these great answers so much ,it is obvious that when asking

a question of this nature one should first say in which area of the spanish

speaking world that one is intending to use these words, for just like English

there is no definitive correct word or phrase that applies everywhere.

Thank you all.
