It seems to me that there are many verbs in Spanish that are formed with these endings, and these confuse me.

Can anyone suggest a list ?

Gracias por ayudarme grin

Almost all (if not all) have the same vowel before the ending as in the ending. I use this to often decide if it is an "er" or "ir" ending. For example. comEtEr, tansmItIr.

cometer = to commit, to entrust

meter = to put

prometer = to promise

someter= to subject, to dominate

mitir verbs/verb endings

admitir = to admit

permitir = to permit / to allow

remitir = to send

transmitir = to transmit

I will add more as they come to me

This will hopefully give you a starting point and you you can do some further study lol wink

They follow the usual "er" and "ir" verb endings except for some irregular ones. These can usually be found in any good Spanish text such as Panorama, which is available from Amazon.com - Daniela2041, Jun 18, 2015
