Hi everyone,

My question is about this :

"Se arregló el cuello de la camisa como si llevara corbata". I'd like to know why didn't the author of this sentence used "una".. Is anyone on this rule ?

Thanks ! smile

There is no rule that I know of, however, we don't quantify clothing with articles when discussing what a person wears, ie: Ella lleva zapatos de alto tacón / lleva blusa rosada / él lleva pantalón negro / lleva pantalones negros.

It would sound very unnatural to use a quantifing article in these cases, so I suppose you need to memorize this stuff until you feel more familiar with the language.
