Question: En qué mercado o supermercado compras la comida
My answer: En supermercado. Me siempre voy a supermercado con mi hermana.
Is my answer correct? In terms of grammar and all. Thanks.

Almost correct: En el supermercado. Siempre voy al supermercado con mi hermana (without "me").
Hello Elicia,
Welcome to the SpanishDict forum ![]()
Julian has already given you a perfect answer but I thought that I would write this short post just to help you and others who struggle with the difference between the two verbs ir and irSE.
Voy comes from the verb ir = to go
ex: Voy al cine con mi amigo, esta tarde. = I am going to the cinema with my friend, this afternoon.
Me voy comes from the verb irSE to leave / to go away
ex: Me voy a tomar las vacaciones al fin de julio este año. = I am taking my holidays at the end of July this year.
Although you can split up me and voy in the following way, by adding it to the end of a verb in the infinitive form, as shown below:
Voy a tomarMe unas vacaciones en agosto este año. = I am going to take a holiday in August this year. (or you can add it to the imperative form: eg diMe = tell me or a gerund: Estában esperándoME =They were waiting for me
...you wouldn't split them up in the way that you did in your example:above:
Me siempre voy Instead, you would say : Siempre me voy ...
In this next example, please note the correct word order: the Spanish would say Siempre nos vamos not Nos siempre vamos:
ex: Siempre nos vamos de vacaciones al extranjero = We always go abroad for our holidays
I hope this helps ![]()

Might the question be asking for the name of the market or supermarket? I look at this to mean "In which market or supermarket do you buy your food?"
