¿Cómo se dice "I heard some footsteps behind me" en español?

I have "yo oí unos pasos detrás de mi." However, I have also seen the word atrás used instead of detrás, and yo used in place of mi. Are all these ways correct? Is there a more proper way to say it?

¡Gracias!

Both variants are correct with the difference being "from behind" (detrás) and just "behind" (atrás).

"Yo" can only be as a subject and can never be used in place of "mí".
