Find a word related to S T R I V E

Question

The idea is to find an English word (synonym –- antonym) related to the word –

S T R I V E (verbo) and then write a simple sentence in English and Spanish for that word.

Or an unusual use of the word.

Example:

She was always striving to please.

Siempre se esforzaba por complacer.

It is not all the same, what is the aim on account of which you are exerting yourself.

Endeavor (I think that might be Endeavour to the owner of this thread)

Aunque siempre procuro escribir bien el español en mis frases para los juegos en este sitio, normalmente cometo algún error u otro, a veces un error tonto, y a veces un error que proviene de una verdadera falta de conocimiento.
