If I am telling a good friend that I have not seen for a while and really, really missed him/her. Which is the better choice to express that sentiment? "Te he echado de menos" or "te he extraño", or "te extrañé". I also have seen "te he perdido"- what is the sentiment of that phrase? Thank you!!

My understanding is that extrañar is more common in Latin America, echar de menos in Spain- but they mean essentially the same. It would be "te he extrañado" for I have missed you. : ) - bosquederoble, May 29, 2015

if this is a friend "te he echado de menos" is better. Te he extrañADO. Te extrañe is more usual in a sentimental relationship. - doncruz, May 30, 2015
