Let = X the number of dimes and let Y = the number of quarters.
Therefore, 10X + 25y + 90 = 10Y + 25X
How many coins are there in total? 20. So Y = 20-X
So, 10X + 25(20-X)+90=10(20-X)+25X
Simplifying the above, 390=30X so X=13 and Y=7
Checking:
13 dimes + 7 quarters = 130 + 175 = 305
7 dimes + 13 quarters = 70 + 325 = 395 which is 90 cents more than before. Correct.
