Confusing Spanish structures, once again... Haha!
Hello guys, I have another question!! I wanted to write 'Not only were my brothers singing non-stop for the whole journey but we had so much luggage in the car that it was beyond uncomfortable'. (Referring to a car journey to France a few years ago)
Also, does this 2nd sentence make sense, I have used my dictionary and tense tables but I don't know anyone who speaks Spanish, and am scared it wouldn't sound right altogether:
What I was trying to write here was: "For as far back as I can remember, my family and I have gone to France every Christmas holiday. As a child, we used to go to Paris, as my mother used to drive and it didn't take too long to drive there".
Okay I'll stop now, Sorry! Thanks again guys :D !!

(1) For me, it is cooler to start the second paragraph: Desde que me alcanza la memoria.
(2) "en llegar" can be omitted because it is implicit in the paragraph
