When I discover new things that my iPhone can do, my son usually rolls his eyes and says, "Duuuh!!" This may be one of those.

I often use my phone to post on this site. I hed never used accents because they were difficult to use. Well, I just discovered that if you want, for example, an accent over the "e," you hold down the "e" key and options for accents will pop up. Keep your finger pressed and slide it to the desired one.

This has made my life SO much easier!!

We had great fun with my old boss when he got his first mobile (cellphone) by telling him it was voice-activated (it wasn't)... - Faldaesque, May 28, 2015
He spent a whole day strutting around the office, shouting 'On !!' into it, then muttering, 'blasted thing's broken, bah'... ;-) - Faldaesque, May 28, 2015

Simple once you know but difficult to discover. - gringojrf, May 28, 2015
Wink, I'm sure that your discovery will be useful for people here. I have downloaded various keyboard layouts : Español, Francés, Italiano and Portuguese which combined with predictive text and High Quality voice synthesis can be very useful ! - FELIZ77, May 28, 2015
I have downloaded them.onto my phone - FELIZ77, May 28, 2015
It took me several days to figure out how to get capital letters. lol. - gringojrf, May 28, 2015
Adding the Spanish language to an Android phone yields the same result. Long-press a letter or punctuation mark for options. - jtaniel, May 28, 2015
Hi , it works on all apple products too. - ray76, May 29, 2015

I discovered that same thing by accident on my smartphone. There are lots of different "extras" on a lot of the keys. Even then, I'm still constantly asking our daughter how to do something or other on my phone. My mom always jokes she's going to have to go out and find a six-year-old to show her how to use her (old) cellphone.
