Fluencia sentence. adj de ir

The sentence is "She is happy to go shopping with her friend". I originally put "ella esta feliz ir de compras con su amiga. But the correct answer is "ella esta feliz de ir de compras con su amiga" Can some one please explain to me why the extra de is needed?

Ella está feliz de ir de compras con su amiga. She is happy (from/due to/because of) going shopping with her friend.

In this case the connector is needed because “ir de compras” is neither the subject nor the object of the conjugated verb.

In a similar sentence: La hace feliz ir de compras con su amiga. Going shopping with her friend makes her happy.

In this case ella becomes la as an object, and ir de compras is now the subject.

Ir de compras con su amiga la hace feliz. Makes sense.

But

Ir de compras con su amiga ella está feliz. Makes no sense.

I am an intermediate level learner.
