Thanks for your answer, I had guessed it would be masculine. I am doing a Spanish language course based from an American text called NEXOS and they refer to the word celular for mobile phone which is why I had to know as it's part of my assignment to talk about a red cell phone. So I needed to know is it 'celular rojo' o 'celular roja'. Interesting how there are such differences between countries.

Sorry about the context but I thought it would be clear from the spelling, celular vs celula.

I understood that your question is about cell: structural and functional unit of all living organisms.

Celular meaning telephone doens't exist in Spain.

Hi Karen, welcome to the forum!

the correct form is masculine:

celular.

  1. m. Am. teléfono móvil.

El celular

In Spain we say:

Teléfono móvil

It is "la célula" (noun)

celular is an adjective with no gender: "tejido celular"
