Please check my answers for the following assignment. My answers are in bold.

Oraciones: Write complete sentences using the cues provided. Use indirect object pronouns whenever possible, and conjugate the verbs in the preterite tense.

1. Ustedes / comprar un regalo (a Carmen) Ustedes le compraron un regalo a Carmen.

2. Yo / escribir un mensaje (a mis padres) Yo les escribié un mensaje a mis padres.

3. Tú / prestar dinero (a mí) Tú me prestaste dinero a mí.

4. Iván / mostrar su casa (a ti) Iván te mostró su casa a ti.

5. Usted / describir la foto (a nosotros) Usted nos describió la foto a nosotros.

Would it be incorrect to end the sentences without "a -person-"?

Example: Ustedes le compraron un regalo.

Yes, if you had an antecedent. Like if you were talking about Pedro, someone could say You bought a present for him. That's what your sentence says. - Daniela2041, May 4, 2015
