There are none as deaf as those who refuse to hear.

Or as blind as those who refuse to see.

Or as mute as those who refuse to speak out.

Nor as d a m n ed as all three.

Ni tan maldita como los tres.

Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, See No Evil

Good sentence :). Only one tip: "Ninguno" is singular, you must use the adjetive also in singular (sordo) - txustaboy, Apr 20, 2015

Evil cannot be ignored , it must be stopped before it takes hold .

@Ranman , I always have a problem with great men of history who we now find had feet of clay , but should we judge them in the morays of today , or in the ways that existed then. - ray76, Apr 20, 2015
Further in the case of Jefferson would our history be the better or the worse had he been condemned then ? - ray76, Apr 20, 2015
Ray - it is false to judge people "out of their time". I suspect you agree. - ian-hill, Apr 20, 2015
Yes I do Ian and I made a comment to Ranman below about that , thanks. - ray76, Apr 21, 2015

In our country lived an excellent poet, who during the atrocities of the World War II, wrote a book in verse of the story of the prophet Jonas and wrote the lines, those we often quote : "Among the guilty who keeps the silence is an accomplice "

Sometimes is better to use "el que" or "los que" instead of "..quien..". This relative clause (quien) can cause errors including to the Spanish native speakers - txustaboy, Apr 20, 2015
You have eloquently portrayed the feeling porcu , and i love the quotation , a great poet. - ray76, Apr 20, 2015

When good men are silent, then evil abounds.

I wonder if this has a subjunctive (or maybe two)

Let's try to cross that one off our list.

Muchas gracias, Luís smile

"Silence implies consent"

We use to say more or less with the same meaning:

El que calla otorga.

Yeah like when Jefferson, the owner of slaves, forcefully removed Native Americans after breaking a treaty.

Silence also results from knowing mere words will not change the situation for the better. In such situations, saying silence must imply consent is slander.
