Favor de explicarme algo.

Question

Hola, amigos.

Estoy un poco confundida. Se trata de los “puntos de reputación.” A veces cuando contesto una pregunta, me dan 10 puntos. A veces no me dan nada (0 puntos)

También cuando voto por alguien, me dan 1 punto, pero muchas veces NADA!!

¿Cuál es la razón de esto? ¿Es que hay un secreto arcano, mágico y misterioso para esta falta de puntos de reputación? No es que me quejo, es que “Enquiring minds want to know.” ¿Hay una cuota o límite de puntos que se puede ganar en un día o qué?

Explícamelo, por favor. ??

Yes, you can only earn 200 reputation points per day (24 hours). When they calculate a day, it's not necessarily our time zone. Here is a link if you haven't seen it yet.

It's a rolling 24 hours, so if you got them late in the day one day, you are blocked until late in the day the next day. So if I got 10 points at 3:01 yesterday, and have a total of 200 at 3:00 today, at 3:01 it will drop to 190 and allow me to get 10 more, whenever the next vote comes in.

It is still nice to be voted for either way- I look at the votes more as appreciation for your contribution, whether they contribute to the total or not.

The points for voting only seem to reset if you haven’t voted for more than 24 hours; when you vote as often as I do, you really don’t ever get those.

I can't figure out the 10 points a day for voting, either. Sometimes I get them, but it depends on the day and if I was active the day before. No sé por qué,

Usually, I try to check to see if a person is at their limit before I vote, but sometimes it is not practical.

The votes are still good at counting for a badge, even if they don't give you any points.
