Exercise: Modo Subjuntivo / Subjunctive mood

Exercise: Modo Subjuntivo / Subjunctive mood

11
votes

Greetings mates!

This exercise consists of writing a sentence. That sentence must be written in the subjunctive mode. You may add a picture.

Example:

If I had boarded the Titanic, I might also have died.

How search the subjuntive on RAE here.

ship

" This exercise consists of writing a sentence . That sentence be written in the subjunctive . You may add a picture" A small typo mate. - ray76, Apr 17, 2015
I think you mean, "If I had been on the",,,,, - rac1, Apr 17, 2015
If I had "boarded " the Titanic I might also have died. - ray76, Apr 17, 2015
Or as Amber said "If I had been on" but I like "boarded " either will suffice old thing. - ray76, Apr 17, 2015
My typo - "That sentence must be written ..." - ray76, Apr 17, 2015
Thank you mates, I had preferred "approached" because board means also: "Pizarra" in Spanish. - crucesignatus, Apr 17, 2015
You could have "approached" it before it took off, but even then you would not have been "on" the ship to be in any danger. - rac1, Apr 17, 2015

Oh, thank you very much mates!, now, I understand more the word "approach"! - crucesignatus, Apr 17, 2015
You doing OK mate , no probs. - ray76, Apr 18, 2015
:) - crucesignatus, Apr 21, 2015

Si fuera fácil, todos lo harían.

If it were easy, everyone would do it.

At times I wonder, if I had chosen different options for some of the decisions that I have made in life, how things would have went gone- better, worse, or simply different. But the truth is that for the most part I like my life, and so I don't think about this too much.

"how things would have went" - in Brit Eng we would say "how things would have gone." :) - ian-hill, Apr 18, 2015
Yes, absolutely right :) - FELIZ77, Apr 18, 2015
You know, Bosque, I find it better never to think along those lines. - annierats, Apr 19, 2015
I asked my wife, she chose went as well. Either went or gone sound okay to me. What a grammarian (American, since I would give that status to Ian in British) would say, I don't know - bosquederoble, Apr 19, 2015
I would say 'gone', but then, I'm not a native! - annierats, Apr 19, 2015
But your English is British. My wife spoke British English until she was 7, but it is definitely American now. - bosquederoble, Apr 20, 2015
American here: I go, I went, I (would) have gone. - AnnRon, Jul 31, 2015
I trust your thoughts, so I will assume it is an error in my English. :) - bosquederoble, Aug 1, 2015

If I had more time and more money I would like to take lessons in five languages. I would take a class in each language at least 3 times a week! wink

- crucesignatus, Apr 17, 2015
¡Muchas gracias por sus correcciones, amigos ....saludos! ;) :) :) - FELIZ77, Apr 17, 2015
Svenska se llama sueco, en español. Aunque te entiendo, bra gjort. - annierats, Apr 19, 2015

a minor detail: I don't think you need a comma after por lo tanto in the sentence on top. - Sassette, Aug 3, 2015

Si hubiera estudiado más, habría sacado 20.

If I had studied more, I would have reached 20.

Nota: En Perú la nota máxima es 20.

Note: In Peru, the highest score is 20.

Thank you Rac - crucesignatus, Apr 17, 2015
In American English we would be more likely to use grade or score than note I think, but I do not know for British English. - bosquederoble, Apr 17, 2015
Thank you for the observation Bosque. - crucesignatus, Apr 18, 2015
De nada. :) - bosquederoble, Apr 18, 2015
Yes, in England I think we would normally say ' I would have scored 20'. - annierats, Apr 19, 2015
Annie is correct , we would definitely say, 'score' not grade or note !;) - FELIZ77, Aug 1, 2015

We will have lunch as soon as you all come (ie: arrive) because the children will be hungry! (arrive)

o comer*

or do I need to use the subjunctive of tener: tengáis,(vosotros) here ...is it still influenced by en cuanto que...?

If we had not gone for a walk on the beach with the dog, my husband would not have fallen over, nor would he have damaged his ankle and he would not now be sitting in the sofa, resting, with the leg up. It seems to be a pulled ligament.

If I had been born a boy, life would have been easier in some ways and harder in others.

If we climb a little more we will reach the top.

If we were rising a little more, we would reach the top.

Question: Why isn't the present subjunctive used (subamos) instead of the imperfect, which you used. Isn't this sentence in the present? - Sassette, Aug 3, 2015
Track, in Spanish the sentence is in past tense. - crucesignatus, Aug 3, 2015
I just noticed llegar is in the conditional. More confusion. Seems to read: if we climbed a little more we would (or could) reach the top. Hmmm.... - Sassette, Aug 4, 2015

Here we are in Europe with a great problem of fugitives. I do not think that a single country can solve the problem. I hope that everything works out well.
