How to ask for confirmation in Spanish?
How can I (generally speaking) form questions that ask a speaker to either confirm or deny something. What phrases are then generally used when reply to such questons?
My Spanish book lists two possibilities. (3) is a sentence I came up with.
- ?Eres Pepe? Sí, soy yo.
- Tú eres, Ana, ?verdad?
- Shakira es una cantante famosa, ?no es ási?
As the first two questions are taken from a book - They might be correct. What about the third one, is it possible to put such a question or simply incorrect?
Thank you.

Muy bien.
?Eres Pepe? Sí, soy yo. This is OK.
Tú eres, Ana, ?verdad?
This needs an answer like "Sí, soy Ana". or "No, no soy Ana."
Shakira es una cantante famosa, ?no es ási? this needs an answer also. It's easy go ahead and see what you can do.
By the way inverted question marks "¿" are provided at the bottom of the posting boxes. Just click on those or any accent marks you need and "voila".
Hola, Andrew:
In your questions you are asking for a confirmation. Then you state in your last sentence that you want answers to these. I'm a Spanish teacher and get confusing questions all the time. So please be a little clearer. Next, see if you can provide answers. We are not a translation service. This is a learning site. One good way to learn is to make mistakes and get them corrected.
If you will restate your question, then provide what you think are the correct responses, Either I or one of the other teachers on this site will correct your mistakes and advise you where you went wrong, if you do make a mistake.
Buena suerte
