Welcome to the SpanishDict forum

The words should be written as:

El reloj de pulsera = watch/wrist watch.

The word reloj is masculine so the article must also be masculine to match it ...this is called gender agreement /agreement of gender!

If a noun like casa (= house) is immediately followed by an adjective then the adjective must agree in gender and number with the word it describes!

eg: La casa grande = The big house.

Las casas grandes = The big houses.

However, if a preposition like de, meaning 'of' follows directly after the noun, there is no requirement for the noun and word coming after the preposition to agree!

eg: El reloj de pulsera. Be guided by the noun reloj which is masculine!

You became confused because you either wrote it down incorrectly or saw it written incorrectly!

Actually, it can be said/written both ways because the watch is not made of "pulcera" but of a metal, etc. so, ie: "los relojes pulcera, el reloj pulcera" are also correct - 005faa61, Apr 11, 2015

Even stranger to ask, what is the gender of "el xxx", somehow I doubt their level of understanding is such that"el does not guarantee anthing- after al, "el agua" is femenine. ;) - bosquederoble, Apr 11, 2015
