When to use encajar vs caber

I''ve never been sure of the most appropriate context to apply the verb "caber" instead of "encajar", or vice versa.

Can someone assist by giving me pointers? Thanks!!!

Basically, these are the cases when we would not use caber:

encajar.

(De en- y caja).

  1. tr. Meter algo, o parte de ello, dentro de otra cosa. Encajar la llave en la cerradura. U. t. c. intr.

  2. tr. Ajustar algo con otra cosa, apretándolo para que no se salga o caiga. Encajar el eje de la rueda.

  3. tr. Unir ajustadamente algo con otra cosa. Encajar las piezas de un rompecabezas. U. t. c. intr.

I used encajar instead of caber to explain fitting in my schedule in my sentence for Word of the Day. If I was right, perhaps fit went into schedule (point #1) - Sassette, Apr 2, 2015
