There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes .

enter image description here

Please encourage everyone with a vote. Remember those who arrive late. smile

.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Instructions to post a picture

.

Examples:

1. Si no compartes los juguetes con tu hermano, no podrás jugar con ellos.

If you don't share the toys with your brother, you can't play with them.

2. He compartido contigo secretos que nunca le he dicho a nadie más.

I've shared secrets with you that I've never told anyone else.

Me encantaría tener un amigo con quien podría poder compartir la dicha de aprender español y, últimamente más recientemente, coreano. Mi pobre pareja tiene que escucharme cada vez que me entusiasmo con alguna regla gramatical y realmente no puedo culparle por escucharme a medias.

I would love to have a friend with whom I could share the joy of learning Spanish and, more recently, Korean. My poor partner has to listen to me every time I get excited about some grammatical rule and I really can't blame him for listening with half an ear.

Según el gobierno debemos viajar por transporte público . Desafordunadamente cuesta mas viajar en tren en Inglaterra que volar. Los autobuses son mas baratos pero tardan horas en llegar porque siempre tienen que hacer paradadas en cada pueblo por los que pasan. Resulta que es mas cómodo y más barato viajar en coche, pero al menos podemos compartir coche con los amigos siempre que sea posible.

According to the governement we should travel by public transport. Unfortunatly it costs more to go by train in England than to fly. The buses are cheaper but take hours to get anywhere because they have to stop in all the villages they pass through. The end result is that it is cheaper and more comfortable to go by car, but at least we can car-share amongst friends whenever possible.

Ayer fuimos a la casa de la mejor amiga de mi esposa para compartir algunos algunas plantas que yo había cultivado- plantas perennes, arbustos, bulbos, rizomas y así- y pasamos la tarde plantándolas. Después ella compartió la cena y algún vino con nosotros antes de que regresáramos a casa.

Yesterday we went to my wife's best friend's house in order to share some plants I had grown- perennials, shrubs, bulbs, rhizomes and such- and spent the afternoon planting them. Afterwards she shared dinner and some wine with us before we returned home.

Los humanos han arrebatado todo el mundo para si mismo ... es hora de aprender compartirlo con otros (animales y pajeros)

Humans have snatched the world for themselves only .. it is time they learn to share it with others (animals and birds).

Humanos Crueles .. Que lastima,,

Cruel humans .. what a shame..

I have two kids at four and two. When my daughter was born my son was already two, and my wife and I decided it would be important that they learn to share. Insofar as our son is concerned, all is well and good, and he understands the word. However, with our daughter, now she thinks 'share' means 'give me'. When her brother has a toy that she wants, she yells at him, 'Share, share, share !' Unfortunately my daughter has yet to grasp the true meaning of the word.

I wonder if all children go through such a period. It's obvious that some people never grow up in this respect (eh!) but maybe there are people who are born knowing how to share. - Manity, Mar 30, 2015

I think you may have to say ' años' because I read it as menaing you had two children, who in turn had two and four children, i.e. your grandchildren. - annierats, Mar 30, 2015

Cada vez que viajo con amigos, yo no comparto mi cuarto del hotel con nadie. Lo prefiero así. Sabes que la gente tiene rutinas diferentes de cuándo dormir, cuàndo despertar, etcétera.

Whenever I travel with friends, I don’t share my hotel room with anybody. I prefer it that way. You know that people have different routines of when to sleep, when to wake up, etc.
