Georgeir (George) is the official corrector of the Spanish sentences. Please correct your entries according to his suggestions. There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes. .

enter image description here .

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game. .

Instructions to post a picture

Examples:

1. De niño fui bajo, pero crecí ocho pulgadas mientras estaba en la secundaria.

I was short as a child, but I grew eight inches while I was in high school.

2. Ha llovido mucho y el río está creciendo de forma peligrosa.

It has rained a lot and the river is rising dangerously. .

Have a great Saturday!!

Donde crecí y ya vivo hay cuatro estaciones distintas, y comenzó la primavera cuando esperamos los primeros indicios de la vida nueva creciendo.

Where I grew up and still live there are four distinct seasons, and spring has begun when we await the first signs of new life growing.

De todos modos ambos están creciendo, pero pronto se darán cuenta de que crecer no es tan fácil y de que es un proceso largo.

Anyway both are growing, but soon they realize that growing is not so easy and it is a lengthy process.

En el pasado, se agruparon los artrópodos con los anélidos debido a que los dos tienen segmentación, aunque siempre me ha parecido que la segmentación parcial del primer grupo no es semejante a la segmentación completa del segundo, pero hoy en día se agrupan los artrópodos con los gusanos redondos como animales que crecen mediante una serie de mudas de cutícula o caparazón (un proceso que incluye la metamorfosis que ocurre en algunos insectos).

In the past, arthropods were grouped with annelids because the two have segmentation, even though it has always seemed to me that the partial segmentation of the first group is not similar to the complete segmentation of the second, but nowadays the arthropods are grouped with the round worms as animals that grow by means of a series of molts of their cuticle or shell (a process that includes the metamorphosis that occurs in some insects).

A menudo es muy difícil crecer en verdad. Una persona puede parecer adulto, su cuerpo es maduro, y tal vez tiene una buena educación, pero sus emociones son todavía las de una niño.

"¿Qué quieres ser cuando crezcas?" es una pregunta que a menudo pregunto a mis estudiantes. Hubo un niño en mi clase que no me contestó pero al final me mostró un papel. Escribió una palabra con tres letras: "dad".
