I liked this game at school. Back then the teacher would put little bits of paper in a hat, and we pupils would have to pick one out. Each bit of paper described a profession, then three of us would come forward to explain, on by one, the reason for which he or she should stay inside the balloon while the others ought to fall. Therefore, what's your occupation, real or imaginary, and why should you be allowed to stay in the balloon ?

Ambos idiomas por favor... Both languages, please...

Thanks, halco :-) - Faldaesque, Mar 23, 2015
I think you meant "hat" where you typed "hay". :) - bosquederoble, Mar 23, 2015
My English is deteriorating faster than my Spanish is improving, sigh... Gracias... - Faldaesque, Mar 23, 2015

I am a hot air balloon pilot. Without me, the balloon would drift aimlessly until there was no more fuel, and then everyone would fall from the sky.

Ok, you can stay, but no one really likes a smart **** ;-) - Faldaesque, Mar 23, 2015
Is the other word for donkey really considered 'profane'... ? I bet if I were to spell it the Scots way it wouldn't be (& that really is quite rude)... - Faldaesque, Mar 23, 2015
I think Americans think that way doesn't sound as bad. :) - bosquederoble, Mar 23, 2015
The Scots word for it, ar*e, is essential in Spanish reflexive verbs, but to British ears sounds ruder than the the donkey kind... ;-) - Faldaesque, Mar 23, 2015

I'm a lawyer (imaginary). I guess I had better jump.

I am a zumba instructor, and I am necessary to ensure that no one gains so much weight that the balloon no longer can remain in the air.

This is not my real job, but I am a farmer (imaginary) and in my opinion I should stay in the balloon because without the hard work that I undertake for all of you, you would have no food...

I am not sure why this thread has not ended up being popular, it is an entertaining idea, and so I am going to make another post in an attempt to revive it. I am a fireman; you should keep me in the balloon, because I save lives, in several ways.

The truth is that I am not a firemen, but I received a little training in this area many years ago, because in the Navy, they say that while a ship is on fire, everyone is a fireman, because there is no where you can escape to.

When I originally posted it I got distracted (I think it was the kids' bedtime or something) so the Spanish version wasn't very good, there was no English translation & no example, so maybe that's why it didn't capture much interest... - Faldaesque, Mar 26, 2015
Or maybe folk just don't like it, but thanks for your encouragement, Bosque... - Faldaesque, Mar 26, 2015

Looks like you don't know English that well either. Please use proper capitalization and punctuation in your posts. Also, no text speak. - rac1, Mar 22, 2015
