I think that this is a true representation of the differences in the public mentality of the US vs Mexico. Comments welcome.

Sadly this is changing and Mexico is becoming more materialistic.

Cuando mi familia y yo estuvimos en España en diciembre fuimos a un centro comercial... Fue casi totamente lo mismo que lo que tenemos en Escocia, excluso el idioma... El mundo es pequeño y se hace más y más pequeño...

When my family and I were in Spain in December we went to a shopping mall... It was almost identical to what we have in Scotland, except the language... The world is small and getting smaller and smaller...

He ido a centros comerciales muy elegantes en México semejante a ese de la primera foto. Pero creo que la mayoría de los Mexicanos entienden que estas tiendas tienen más gastos, y por eso las cosas cuestan más. Y creo que les gusta negociar por las gangas.

The malls are moving into Baja as well but the street markets continue to thrive and I think always will. Even Home Depot is not hurting the small independent stores. But the chains like ACE hardware are hurting because of lower prices. - gringojrf, Mar 19, 2015

Hablé con algunos de mis profes. Uno es de España, la otra de Grecia. Ambos me dijeron que cuando regrasaron a su país natal, era exactamente como los EEUU. Mi profe de Español me contó que hace 20 años no había nadie que celebrara Halloween en España. Cuando volvió al país, cada muchacho compraba dulces y una mascara cada octubre.

El mundo está cambiando y tal vez los EEUU sea la destinación.

I spoke to some of my teachers. One is from Spain, the other from Greece. Both told me that when they returned to their respective birth countries, they found it exactly like the US. My Spanish teacher went further and tole me that 20 years ago nobody in Spain celebrated Halloween. When he returned, every October ever single kid bought candy and a mask.

The world is changing and maybe America's the destination.
