Being voted up, giving votes of encouragement to fellow members, taking time to make this site a great place to be, and general friendship is what the learning community here at SD is all about.

This Scottish family man keeps us in stitches with his humor and wit. Your fun posts and participation are exemplary on many levels. And you are so active on so many threads that it is always easy to have a visit each day with a fine SD friend. Keep it up! Your past year here has shown how diligent you are in learning and can only go up, up, up from here. I'm sure you high level of French will continue to give you a leg up in Spanish and will have you speaking Spanish in Spain with fluency, giving you success in your visits and touring.

Bien hecho, amigo.

Gracias. Mony a mickle maks a muckle... ;-) - Faldaesque, Mar 12, 2015
Why Spanish speakers wonder if we all speak the same language when learning English. ha. - katydew, Mar 12, 2015
Well, I have mastered Ameican, including Texan and other southern styles, am working on others. - Daniela2041, Mar 13, 2015

Congratulations, and well done. It is a pleasure to interact with you every day, and you are a great part of what makes this a great site. It is fun even when I start to feel we are the only two still playing on a particular game thread, and although you can probably tell I am a bit happier when we have at least three, that is not because of you. Thanks for the games you start, this thread once again reminds me I need to do one or two. And just so you know, my mother claims to have spoken Scots Gaelic when she was four (she has forgotten it, but she can make sounds that I can't). She claims to be descended from Stewarts (in part- she has other British as well).

Gracias. Sadly there are few Gaelic-speakers left. I took a little at uni, but that was long ago. Maybe I'll get around to it again after I master Spanish in a few hundred years ;-) - Faldaesque, Mar 12, 2015
My mother refuses to relearn it, says it would do her not good, and so sticks with the French that seemed to be the norm of her generation ( helped by the fact that when she left the UK at age 17 she emigrated to Canada). :) - bosquederoble, Mar 13, 2015
She tells me her French is very tinged with French Canadian, but that when she has used it in France, they tolerate it. - bosquederoble, Mar 13, 2015
I haven't heard many French Canadians speak, but they sound quite clear to me. I've heard they speak a purer form of French, e.g. 'fin de la semaine' instead of 'le weekend' jeje... - Faldaesque, Mar 14, 2015

Congratulations Mate 25K ,Bien hecho

I need time to adjust the tilt o mah Kilt , I shall be back.

It has been so refreshing for all of us here on SD to have a member that can

keep us on our toes to watch our Ps and Qs , because his knowledge on a

number of subjects is quite extensive , as I found out to my dismay and sorrow

But we did have fun , and that has been one of the great features of Falda

his intelligence never gets in the way of his sense of humour , nor his humility.

Falda has provided us with help on our posts , and much learning from his posts

That is the feature of a great member , one that can learn themselves but also

give other members the tools to help them learn , you are a champion at that

mate . You are also a Scot the nation that gave the Kiwis their accent so I shall

say no more on that score , but I am sure that they did do other things

You are now well and truly a "Legend" on SD mate well done and Thanks

A few achievements of the Scottish people , other than their accent to Kiwis

Did I almost MISS Señor Falda's 25k post? I would have been banished from SD if I had committed such a crime!

Here, have some beer as a token of appreciation for all the work you do on SD!

enter image description here

Oh dear, I am so very clumsy today...

Well, perhaps its for the best. Such a brilliant mind like the one you possess should not be tarnished by alcohol. Who then would take over all your responsibilities and roles? Why, we would be absolutely helpless without you!

Plus, then you start seeing people that look like...

Congratulations my dear Falda! You've really earned this thread!

All your admirers have already used up all the good words I wanted to use.

What is left for me to say?

How about a selection of the good stuff to celebrate amigo?

Todos sus admiradores ya han agotado todas las buenas palabras que quería usar.

Lo que se deja para que le diga?

¿Qué tal una selección de las cosas buenas para celebrar amigo?

Whisky

Saludos y bien hecho.
