Does the lowercase form of the word "luca" have other meanings besides 1000 pesos?

My teacher insists the lowercase form of the word "luca" is also used when talking about a precious metal.

haha I got that, mmm luca in some countries(Chile and Argentina i think) means 1000 pesos, and the relation of that word and "precious metal", i think its because in those countries people call money "plata" (which means silver, more frequent) instead of "dinero".

a very common example in colloquial context

Pedrito:-¿Vayamos a comprar jugo de naranja?

Juanito:-¿Cuánto vale?

Pedrito:-Luca (1000 pesos) (just an example)

Juanito:-Mejor no, porque no tengo plata(dinero).

So I guess for him/her there no possibility of starting a phrase with "Lucas"
