Sacaba los animales para pastoreo.

This is best I came up with for this sentence. Any suggestions?

Cheers. grin

This would be my guess, I am not sure what you mean by take out, but I went with lead outside:

Llevaba los animales afuera para pastorearlos. He would take the animals outside to put them to pasture.

Pastorear must be infinitive after para, unless there is a que (demanding a subjunctive conjugation), which is not necessary without a subject change. It is transitive, and sounds better to me with the DOP.

The use of sacar is correct in this phrase. Sacar is common usage for to take out and it´s understood that the animals are taken out from wherever they normally live. I would consider it idiomatic but we often use it with people, ie: Te voy a sacar a dar una vuelta (I´m going to take you out for a walk / ride).
