Can the spanish verb "Pedir" be reflexive?

Question

From what I understand the Spanish verb "Pedir" cannot be reflexive, but I have seen many people use "Pedirme"? Is there any reason to it?

That being said, pedirme means to ask me- it does not have to be pronomial

Si no encuentras lo que buscas no dudes en pedírmelo- If you don't find what you are looking for, don't hesitate to ask me for it.

So my answer is yes, it can be pronomial -although it means you are asking for something for yourself, not of yourself, but pedirme by itself does not imply that it is being used that way, you need the context to tell.

if somebody want something from you "alguien quiere pedirte algo", maybe you can think "¿qué quiere pedirme?" these verbs are not reflexive, the suffix "-te, -me, -nos, -les, it works as a indirect object, for example" alguien(subj) quiere pedir(verb) algo(dir obj) a ti(ind obj). so you can hear "pedirme, pedirte, pedirles, pedirnos, pediros, etc when "quieres pedir algo a alguien" tambien puede ser "quieres pedirle algo" (le = a alguien)

and as bosquederoble said, i can be used that way, but it sounds a little weird, because if you want to be first on the swing it can be "pido subir primero al columpio"
