Averiguador

Question

Hi Friends,

I came across a new word for "investigator" today .. so far the only word I knew was El Investigador/La Investigadora.. but today I came across this new word from a vocabulary book ..

Can someone advise if both mean exactly the same or is there some difference between the two (investigador and averiguador)..

Just for extra vocabulary.

Investigador sounds more like a private detective , or a job such as investigador forense but basically I can't think there is any great diference between averiguador and investigador.

if we can have the context, it would be helpful. I have an idea that"averiguador" could be employed as an adjective here. Please give the context. I could be mistaken on this but I would like to be sure. If it could mean "investigative" or "inquiring" then there's the answer.
