Juego de Sinónimos / Synonyms Game

Question

Aquí es mi idea para un juego. Tienes que escribir dos palabras (en inglés o español) que quieren decir lo mismo pero de cuales una se usa más en un país y la otra en otro país, entonces tienes que escribir la traducción en el otro idioma con una explicación. Por ejemplo, podrías escribir trousers / pants = pantalones con la explicación que la primera es inglés britanico mientras que la otra es inglés americano. Quizás a veces hay dos palabras en un idiomá que tienen dos traducciones en el otro idioma.

Here’s my idea for a game. You have to write two words (in English or Spanish) that mean the same thing but of which one is used more in one country than and the other in a different country, then you have to write the translation into the other language with an explanation. For example, you could write trousers / pants = pantalones with the explanation that the first is British English while the second is American English. Maybe sometimes there are two words in one language that have two translations in the other language.

"Line " is used in American English while "queue" is used in British. We Canadians trying to placate both traditions and use either or both interchangeably. We do have a reputation for politeness. We must please everybody.
