Help I need your help on something
I am installing a Spanish Dictionary but they gave me a lot of different choices. Here are my choices
1) Venezuela
2) Argentina
3) Chile
4) México
5) Spain
Which one should I choose?

I don't think it really matters.
I have Venezuela set up on my iPhone, and it still understands words commonly used in Spain.
Hello Ros,
Much depends on two main factors:
1.The kind of Spanish you wish to learn and focus on: Castellaño is spoken in Spain, Mexican Spanish is obviously spoken in Mexico and USA, sounds different and has a different rhythm as well as being slower (spoken more slowly) than the Spanish spoken in Spain and other parts of the world
2 Where you are living now: The USA does tend to favour learning Mexican Spanish.
Mardle is right, I would agree with him and suggest either 1 Mexican Spanish or 2 Castellaño.
My third choice would be Chile
Then Venezuelan and Argentinian Spanish last of all. Argentinian Spanish has the Vos forms which they use , I think instead of the familiar tú
I hope this helps ![]()
I agree with tiempo de es. As you are based in the USA I would choose Mexico. I have been to Mexico and know there are words used differently to the way they are in Spain - just like the difference between the UK and the USA, but there are far more words that are the same.
My second choice would be Spain.
I know I have posted this before, but it illustrates how some words mean different things. You will love listening to it - the two Colombians are engaging, clever and funny. In addition, if you haven't signed up yet [it's free] sign up for the magazine which you will receive electronically.
