Un uso de publicar

I came across this and I think I know what it means but I'd like some verification.

"Me gusta y te publíco un te amo."

I think it means "I like you and I posted an 'I love you.'"

However, this sounds a but awkward to me. Could someone verify or correct this?

This Spanish in this item is somewhat messed up.

"Me gusta" means "I like (something)" the subject is not expressed and the verb is in third person singular and could refer to anything.

Te publico I make public (or I publish to you) un "te amo" ---an "I love you."

Publicar means to make public--If you are talking of your love to somebody I don't think "publicar" is the proper word. Maybe "proclamar" or "declarar" or something similar.

It would be well to go and check your source again.
