Dear me, that’s a bear of a problem, I fear I might not come up with an idea, and will have to shift gears, and listen to everything I hear, until an idea comes near, one that will sizzle and sear, and bring a tear, hoping that it doesn't take a year, and I don’t wear out before an idea rears itself, like when Newton was hit with an apple (or was it a pear?).

I think, other than for King Lear, I got all the 4 letter words, even if not all their different meanings. If I missed one let me know. ;) - bosquederoble, Feb 14, 2015
- Pablo064, Feb 14, 2015
You forgot to spear the consonant blends. By shear force of will some would have been clear, and you could have smeared a few more in there. - Jubilado, Feb 14, 2015
Gracias, Tiempo- Jubilado, I try to write something that I think will lead to one or two errors to learn from, not so simple that I get it correct, but not so hard that i make Tiempo have to fix too much. I was already feeling a bit on the edge with... - bosquederoble, Feb 15, 2015
..,.that sentence, especially since the English came first. (You can always tell because I put whichever I wrote first at the top- normally it is the Spanish. So I thought better of adding any more words. :) - bosquederoble, Feb 16, 2015

Learn - Aprender

One of my English teachers told us that learning a language is like a ballroom dance: Two steps ahead and one back.

my research reveals that clearly there isn't a dearth of words containing the letters EAR

I agree but that is a bit sexist - it is not only men who are violent. - ian-hill, Feb 13, 2015
It may happen , but it is rather rare that a woman beats his husband to death - porcupine7, Feb 13, 2015

Mother speaking to her daughter:" I want you to tidy up your room now!..I want you to clear away all your toys! Is that clear?! (Do you understand me clearly?)

¿Me entiendes bien? >>

How does one make part of a word appear in bold print? When I try it, it doesn't work--shows the asterisks around it instead of bolding it. - AnnRon, Feb 13, 2015
Works for me amiga :) - ian-hill, Feb 13, 2015
