I just Googled "Spanish homework free," and guess what came up at the head of the list:

Homework in Spanish | English to Spanish Translation www.spanishdict.com/translate/homework Translate Homework in Spanish. Get the most accurate English to Spanish translations. Fast. Easy. Free.

Seems to me that might explain why so many students land here expecting us to do their homework for them.

That's why, but you know what? That doesn't say that we will do their homework for them. - rac1, Feb 13, 2015
And when you click on the link, it takes you to "homework" in Spanish. You can type most anything into google and come up with sometimes inaccurate info. The internet checks all the words you type into the search and comes up with sites where the word you - rac1, Feb 13, 2015
typed is included. That doesn't mean we do it for them. - rac1, Feb 13, 2015
Other words you included in your search as well. You also get sites with the word Spanish, free and so on. - rac1, Feb 13, 2015
We do not advertise that we will do their homework for them. - rac1, Feb 13, 2015
All true, but kids who are looking to get their homework donefor them just see what they want to see: "free," "homework," and "Spanish." Just trying to solve a little mystery here. - AnnRon, Feb 13, 2015
Oh I agree with you 100%...just didn't want any of them to think we would do it for them. Thanks Ann...I really wasn't trying to be rude or difficult. :) - rac1, Feb 14, 2015
No such thong as a free lunch guys . - ray76, Feb 14, 2015
Rac, you've never once been rude or difficult. I think it would be a stretch for you even if you were trying. - AnnRon, Feb 14, 2015

Well, they might initially come to us with such expectations, but we would be failing to help them if were to just give-in to such unreasonable demands! We would be like a parent who just gives a child what they want, as soon as they demand it, just for the sake of peace/a quiet life! Anyone who has ever wondered what that approach might lead to in the long term should watch the Musical verson of Charlie and the Chocolate factory, with the actor Gene wlder playing Willy Wonker, and starring Roy Kineer; the parents end up with self-centred spoilt brats no less than they deserve! Charlie is the only lovely kid left!

Sorry, I digress, lol What would students ever learn if other people always did their homework for them...whatever the subject? When applied to languages, the student who consistently makes a great effort to learn, does their own homework and is self -motivated is much more likely to make far greater progress at a faster rate than one who depends on being spoon fed.

When that first student I mentioned a minute ago faces real life situations they will have already developed the language skills and confidence to use them and we all know that success breeds success! The student who has always been lacsadaisacal (lazy) in their manner and approach is likely to find that he/she is lacking many of the necessary skills to enable them to communicate effectively because they have been too dependent on other people for their success!

A good teacher gives their students the tools and teaches them how to use them but s/he does not do everything for them!

Agree with every thought you express here, Feliz. Never meant to suggest otherwise. Well stated, you. - AnnRon, Feb 13, 2015
No, I know you didn't Ann. I am sorry I came across that way. That wasn't my intention. - rac1, Feb 14, 2015
You are correct Feliz , at some stage in life we must be weaned , i believe that many students from " Private Schools " have trouble when they first enter University because they are not used to working alone and doing their own research , here at least. - ray76, Feb 14, 2015
You didn't, rac. Just wanted to make sure I didn't come across as advocating that we do kids' homework for them. - AnnRon, Feb 14, 2015

To get you started, you need to go to the lesson in your book that teaches the verb endings in these two tenses. The regular verbs are not a problem, but the irregular ones need special attention. Again your book will show which ones are irregular and how to deal with them. I noticed that some of them will fall into one tense while rest fall into another.

Sometimes I think that if the student wanted to do what you proposed, she wouldn't have posted here. I also wonder if there are sites that actually do your homework. What do you think, maestra? - Jubilado, Feb 13, 2015
There may be such sites. I have not investigated this. I bet the students know, though. - Daniela2041, Feb 13, 2015
I have been checking this out guys and there are no such sites and they all require profiles before you can post . - ray76, Feb 13, 2015
Jubilado, even if such sites existed what good would they do? They are just spoon feeding people fish ! We prefer to give them a fishing rod and teach them how to fish! - FELIZ77, Feb 13, 2015
@Ray. Mi amor, your comment baffles me. You say that there are N O such sites and that they A L L require profiles before you can post. Sheesh! Explícame eso. - Daniela2041, Feb 13, 2015
@Ray, ---unless that's some more of that goofy Aussie humor! - Daniela2041, Feb 13, 2015
