How to say someone should forget?
I want to translate the phrase "I think you should forget about me" and I get the phrase "creo que me debería olvidar" returned. When I translate this back to english, I get either the original phrase or "I think that I should forget". I am trying to write a dramatic short story, and my Spanish still needs some work, but this is an important part so I would like to have it correct. Any help is appreciated. Gracias.

Hello Fantastico,
Welcome to the SpanishDict forum ![]()
You asked:
I want to translate the phrase "I think you should forget about me"
I believe that you can say: Creo que me deberías olvidar
You can also say: Creo que deberías olvidarte de mí o te deberías olvidar de mi
I would also use the familiar form: deberíaS because you would use this form with friends, or in particular, with a special close girlfriend /boyfriend to whom you would say these words ...you wouldn't be saying them to a complete stranger!(Ud form) lol
You can also see other expressions using forget about in Spanish in the website forum on Word reference.com. Please folllow this link here to check them out!: enter link description here
I hope this helps ![]()
