Por que usamos subjuntivo en este frase

Creo que el poder del arte está precisamente en (...) que la lectura no sea rápida y fácil, [ni que] el mensaje se capte a la primera, se consuma y se olvide.

yo adivino que no sepamos si la lectura como se dice existe.

y no estoy seguro que signifique esta frase, trato de traducirlo

I believe the power of art is exactly in that the lecture is not very fast and easy and the message is not captured primarily, consumed and forgotten.

First, I think that Creer que is a subjunctive trigger in that as a believe is not a fact, thus subjunctive. I would change your translation as follows:

I believe the power of art is exactly in that the lecture interpretation is not very fast and easy and nor is the message is not captured primarily at first (immediately) captured, consumed and forgotten.

I don't know if this improves the translation or not.

no i don´t think so, creer que is used with indicativo when it is not negative. and in the frase it is used as indicativo, the other part takes subjuntivo, and i cant explain it. thank you for correcting my english- - aileia, Feb 4, 2015
