We are currently looking for a corrector for the Spanish sentences. If you are interested, please send me a pm. In the meantime, please help each other as you are able.

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

If a child did something bad, do not ever tell him that he is bad. Say, "It is bad what you have done," instead. Do you notice the difference?

Una amiga mío estaba en la clínica de ancianos y la clínica de ancianos estaba cerrada a los visitantes por dos semanas ¡a causa de enfermedad! Una visitación no es una cosa mala, pero una cosa buena.

A friend of mine was in the nursing home and the nursing home was closed to visitors for two weeks due to illness. A visitation isn't a bad thing, but a good thing.

Después de visitar a mi madre, quién vive ahora en un asilo de ancianos con problemas mentales, desde estar un poco desorientados hasta tener la enfermedad de Alzheimer, tengo que decir que las empleadas que cuidan a los ancianos son muy pacientes y bondadosas con ellos. El hogar que está en en Suecia, no es malo en absoluto, con habitaciones grandes y cómodas, con mucha luz, y salas de comer y de estár muy bonitas.

After visiting my mother, who now lives in a home for elderly people who have mental problems, ranging from being a little confused to having Alzheimers' disease , I have to say that the staff who care for the elderly inmates are very patient and kind towards them. The home, which is in Sweden, is not bad at all, , with big, light rooms which are comfortable, and the dining-rooms and sitting-rooms are beautiful.
