Is that what people say instead of 'cheers' when they toast at a bar mitswa? - Suzanne_Romijnders, Jan 31, 2015

Word for word, (and I put this in another post) L'chaim (pronunciado L'jaiyim) means "to life." Spanish speakers do say "salud" which is "health" English speakers say "Cheers" or "Here's to ya.!" Germans says "gezuntheit" (sp.) But I really love "To Life"

Good question! smile

Thank you for your answer! By the way, in Germany they say "Prost!" which means "To your health!", "Cheers!" or "Aufs Leben" which is translated as "To life" =) You say "Gesundheit!" when someone sneezes to wish him/her good health =) - Valeria_Lu, Feb 1, 2015

Normalmente se usa eso en un brindis para dar sus deseos para buena salud. In español, la palabra es "salud".

Normally you use that in a toast to give your wish for good health. In Spanish, the word is "salud".
