¿Qué quieres que me diga? --- What do you want me to say? ¿Qué me quieres decir?

For the phrases above, I´m not sure which translations are correct.

Someone please correct me if wrong.

  • What do you want me to say? ¿Qué quieres que (te) diga? (Informal) ¿Qué quiere que (le) diga? (Formal~)

Also, If I was to say it like without using "te" and "le" without it be acceptable.

Gracias a todos!

What do you want me to say? = ¿qué quieres que (yo) diga?

Notice how in the English question there's no object for the verb "say", so the Spanish one doesn't need "te" or "le":

¿Qué quieres que (te) diga? (Informal) ¿Qué quiere que (le) diga? = What do you want me to say to you?

Que quieres que me diga means what do you want me to say to me! Que me quieres decir means what do you want to say to me!

What do you want me to say is Que quieres que diga. If you add te before diga, it's What do you want me to say to you! Formal is Que quieres que le diga.

No you don't have to use te or le.

Hope this helps

No problem. For the formal you have written"quieres" when It should be "quiere". - Nr469, Jan 27, 2015
