Subjunctive!

Subjunctive!

Mi intuition tells me that this sentence uses the subjunctive mood, but still I'm not sure.

Josephine you're not the girl for me - "A quote from a song"

Josephine no seas la chica para mí

o

Josephine no eres la chica para mí

Adding to Annie's great answer.

No eres la chica para mí. - You are not the girl for me.

No seas la chica para mí. - Do not be the girl for me. (same logic as in the sentence "Don't be ridiculous.")

You'd need the subjunctive if you insert one of those special phrases, e.g.:

Jo, es posible que no seas la chica para mí pero...

If you're talking to Josephine and you want to break it to her gently : Josephine, quizás tu no seas la chica para mi.

but if you're certain about this, then say with force : Josefina, tu no eres la chica para mi.

If you're talking about Josephine: Josephine no es la chica para mi. ( This is simple a statement)
