how to read years in Spanish

Hola. In English, year 1984 is read as ninteen eighty four. How do we read years in Spanish? will it be diecinueve ochenta y cuatro OR un mil nueve cientos ochenta y cuatro (one thousand nine hunderd and eighty four)?
2015 is dos mil quince. and not veinte quince like in English.

Decimos los números completos:
Mil novecientos ochenta y cuatro.
Dos mil quince.
