Asking strangers questions.

Hey. So in English, when you want to ask a stranger where to find something, you usually start off with "excuse me, please", and then continue with the question, right? So how would you begin a question (to a stranger) in Spanish?

You say "disculpa/disculpe", depending on who you are addressing, as a stantdard:

-Disculpe, ¿me dice la hora, por favor?

Normally, yes, you can say "Disculpame, " and then ask the question... (If you are in a big city or make the question passing through)

If you are standing next to the other guy (i.e.waiting the bus) you can use: "Hola, (smile) Tenes hora?)

You can also use: "Perdon, podrias decirme la hora?"

Asking the question without the introductory words: "Disculpame, Perdon, Hola" its not consider a disrespect: (Not in Argentina at least).

Not really.

You can ask straightly Can you tell me the time? or whatever it is that you want to ask.

Sort of, like in English.
