Pronombres before and after verbs

Question

In my grammar class, we just went over the lesson entitled Algo De Sintaxis.

I understand the role of pronombres (pronouns), but I am wondering if both of these translations of the English phrase /Can I help you?/ are correct.

"Te puedo ayudar?" "Puedo ayudarte?"

Can someone please explain all of the uses of when I can use pronouns, whether before or attached to the end of a verb?

¿Te puedo ayudar? means Can I help you? Although this is correct you need to be wary of the fact that in some situations it may mean, How can I help you?

¿Puedo ayudarte? means Can I help you? and is correct.

The entire Unit Four for Grammar on Study Spanish talks about how to use pronouns and when to use them. Personally I cannot really talk about the use of pronouns. but I hope the link answers your question.

"Te puedo ayudar?" "Puedo ayudarte?"

I must admit I thought both of these sentences meant exactly the same thing. Perhaps a native Spanish speaker can tell us whether there is a difference to their ear?
