A grammar question

Question

I have a question about the usage of this introductory clause: "En días de recuentos", used in a CNN tweet. The whole tweet is "En días de recuentos, aquí está la lista de las 10 cintas más pirateadas de 2014".

Is the introductory clause needed? It seems redundant, since the rest of the sentence says, "...here are the most illegally downloaded films of 2014".

I don't think it's needed. As you said, they just use it as an introductory clause, explaining why they're making that list. The beginning of the sentence is less abrupt in this way, too, I think. But the meaning of the sentence would be the same without that clause.
