Which subject to match gender with?

This sentence has an error, "Tu tío no está en nuestro escuela." Is the error that I have to change nuestro to nuestra to match escuela? If so, then how do I which of the subjects to match to because I thought that I should have left it the same to match tío.

Yes, your first assumption is correct. "nuestra escuela"
"nuestro/a" has to match the gender of "escuela". "Tu tia/o" has nothing to do with "escuela"
