¡Buenos días a todos!

Have you as a Spanish speaker looked up a regional or slang word on our site and not found the entry that you were looking for? Or maybe the entry was there but it wasn't complete, or missing a translation that you know should be there.

We at SpanishDict are giving you the chance to be heard. Below you will find a link to a survey that will allow you to submit a Spanish regional or slang word from a particular country or countries. Submissions will not necessarily be used for future dictionary entries.

SpanishDict Regionalisms Survey

The survey should take about 2 minutes to complete and you can re-enter and submit more words or phrases if you like.

Thanks for taking the time to contribute!

This is a site with very detailed information for a few words (I think just to show what they can do if you pay for their services). This level of knowledge is well beyond what I know, I can’t even attest to the accuracy. It is difficult as even most native speakers only know the words in their area.

http://www.rennert.com/translations/resources/spanishvariations.htm

Two examples:

Eyeglasses

Most: anteojos

Colombia: gafas, lentes

Cuba, Puerto Rico: espejuelos

Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, México, Venezuela: lentes

Spain: gafas

"Anteojos" is an old fashioned word in Mexico.

and

Cake

Most: pastel

Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay, Venezuela: torta

Bolivia, Costa Rica: queque

Colombia: ponqué, torta

Cuba: cake

Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico: bizcocho

Panama: cake, dulce

Peru: queque, torta

Spain: tarta

"Torta" in Mexico means "sandwich" (torta de jamón)

We still use anteojos Bosque - pacofinkler, Dec 17, 2014
As I said, I cannot confirm the source. I think only somewhere who has traveled widely and studied it could be sure. - bosquederoble, Dec 17, 2014

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to add these. It will be very helpful as we have so many members here that have an abundance of knowledge to share with us. Hopefully, we will have an easy access to all of their contributions.
