In english I would make a few changes to make it read better. Here is what I would do:

The 7th of May is my birthday, my birthday is a fantastic event. My family and I go out to a Japanese restaurant. They have many different foods. My friends and family also come to the party and I receive many presents, I have a lot of fun, my birthday is the best time of the year.

Just a few subtle changes.

I am an intermediate level learner and there could be errors still. The assumption that I made was that the party is a separate event from the trip to the restaurant- otherwise the mi familia is redundant as it is already established that they are at the restaurant.

Let me add that I did this as a present tense, but looking at other of the questions, I begin to wonder if it is a past event, even though the English was in present tense. - bosquederoble, Dec 12, 2014

Some of those words don't exist.. try translating the ones you're not sure about using spanishdict.com/translation. Tomorrow morning I'd love to help you with the concordance and verbs etc, but right now I'm going to sleep.
