Pedir Prestado Dinero

Pedir Prestado Dinero

Ok so I have a worksheet and one of the questions is this: "¿Qué cosas les pides prestadas a tus amigos?"

I want to respond: I borrow money from my friends. Would I say "Pido prestado dinero a mis amigos."

I am only in Spanish 2 so any other way of borrowing would not be useful. I need to use a form of pedir prestado but it's super confusing. Please help!

Edit: Thank you all so much! Reading the responses and comments cleared up all my confusion and I aced my quiz! smile

"Pido prestado dinero a mis amigos" is correct, but better: "Les pido prestado dinero a mis amigos"

For me both sound strange (not wrong): I would say: Les pido dinero prestado a mis amigos - txustaboy, Dec 11, 2014
PD: My last sentence is correct but I would say: Le pido dinero prestado a mis amigos (but I know that probably it is incorrect) - txustaboy, Dec 11, 2014
it would be "les pido dinero prestado a mis amigos". It´s "les" and not "le" because the indirect object is plural "a mis amigos". Dinero is the direct object. - SpanishSkypeorg, Dec 11, 2014
Correct :) - Suzanne_Romijnders, Dec 11, 2014
SpanishSkype, I know how it should be, but it is difficult to find any native Spanish speaker who say Les instead Les in this sentence. Obviously Les is the correct one. - txustaboy, Dec 11, 2014
Thanks txta and Spanishskype. - annierats, Dec 11, 2014

le pido prestado dinero a mis amigos (el dinero)

les pido prestado dinero a mis amigos (a mis amigos)

Would it not be that el dinero is the direct object, mis amigos the indirect object, so:

Se lo pido prestado a mis amigos (el dinero)

El dinero, se lo pido prestado a mis amigos.

You are right! le / les are indirect object pronouns. In this case, the IO is "mis amigos" (plural). Therefore, "le pido prestado dinero a mis amigos" is wrong. - Clío, Dec 11, 2014
Thanks, Clío. :) - bosquederoble, Dec 11, 2014

le pido prestado dinero a mis amigos (el dinero)

les pido prestado dinero a mis amigos (a mis amigos)

You know grammar, please explain what I wrote.

Thanks.
