Literature
As a Spanish learner I would like to learn more about the literature of the Spanish speaking world. I would love to learn about the novels, short stories, poetry and so forth. I would like to read literature from Spain, Mexico and South American countries.
Please, any suggestions would really be appreciated as to titles authors and anything else you can think of.

Other than these, in my bookcase I have: Formas de Volver a Casa, (La mano de Fátima) & my personal favourite: La Sombra del Viento.
I also have an academic book right here called 'The Cambridge History of Spanish Literature'. It's huge and includes a chronology of many many works. Give me a period and I'll give you its list. 
) If you have a genre in mind yet, like something from the Catalan Avant-Garde or a Realist/Naturalist/Romantic novel, I can page through its chapter and tell you what I find. ^^

Another book on modern, both Spanish and Spanish-American literature was actually written by one of my professors. I'll give you the names of authors mentioned on the cover page; if you look online for their masterpiece, I'm certain it'll be worthwhile. I'll highlight the ones that I think are most famous as authors.

In my opinion, thé historic female Spanish-American author is Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Her life was quite remarkable and I think it's good to know about her, but if you like her works is a matter of taste, of course. Before just start buying and reading books, I suggest you look up an abstract or non-spoiler summary or reviews of them, so you'll have an idea what it'll be like.
