Idea: Notifications in SpanishDict - Your opinions?

Hey there my lovely SpanishAddicts!

First I just want to say how much I love this site, the community is very helpful and the resources seem nearly endless!

There's a feature on this site I really feel is missing, though: namely getting a notification on your SpanishDict profile when an answer is given to one of your questions, a comment is placed on your question or answer, your answer is edited by someone else (and maybe as well if your name is mentioned in an answer to a question you also answered).

Right now I still find myself going through all the questions I answered to see if the matter has been complicated and thus could use some clarification, simply some confirmation or resolved/expanded upon and it'd be nice to add a short note of gratitude or agreement. I can only imagine those who have given hundreds upon hundreds of answers giving up on even trying to get back to previous conversations altogether with the current system.

I don't think their inboxes would overflow, since almost all 'old' questions get left alone after a while; thus I think this would help them, and all of us, focus on those that remain unfinished.

Sending these notifications by e-mail seems like a unnecessary detour to me, especially if there are many.

Please let me know what you think of this idea.

Look in your profile.

I receive a notification through email of every post or comment I have subscribed.

You subscribe to a post by checking a little box at the bottom of the original post (watch this question)

The thing is to remember to check the box.

I believe she is talking about notifications other than the ones that say you have received x number of rep.....and to have these extra notifications sent to our profiles, not just e-mail. - rac1, Dec 5, 2014

I think it's pretty unhandy to get them in your mail, 1. because it fills up my mailbox and I like to have a clear overview of my most important recent mails there. 2 because for each note you have to go via your mail for each and every single note. - Suzanne_Romijnders, Dec 7, 2014

I would definitely not want to be notified of every thing. Too disruptive.
