Curar (a) la gente

Curar (a) la gente

Should there be an "a" when curar is used in conjunction with people (la gente, una(s) persona(s), Carlos y María)? If not, why not? Google search seems to prefer the version without "a" and I'm not sure I understand why. Thanks!

In this case "la gente" is direct object and when direct object is a person or a pet (sometimes we speak about them like if they are people) we use preposition "a".

So, Curar a la gente is correct.

But, Curar una herida (herida=injury)

Hope this helps you! smile You can find another useful tips in my website.
